"The Charge evokes the criss-crossing of Rioja by medieval knights and pilgrims on the Santiago trail.
We are delighted to work with Rodolfo Bastida of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao in Haro, Rioja Alta. 70% of our white Viura was barrel fermented in a mixture of new French and American oak and was then aged for a further 5 months in the same barrels with frequent lees stirring. The remaining 30% was cool fermented in stainless steel. The result is a wine of considerable length and complexity. Fresh acidity and citrus fruit are balanced by a delicious oaky richness and a buttery texture arising from partial malolactic fermentation."

"Working with the talented Rodolfo Bastida of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao in Haro, Rioja Alta, we have crafted a wine with excellent red berry and spicy fruit with refreshing acidity balanced by fine vanilla flavours from oak maturation. Our The Charge red is made from grapes from all over the Rioja region - 70% Tempranillo, 25% Garnacha and 5% of the enigmatic Graciano. 7 different vineyard blocks were used and the wine was aged for an average 9 months in a variety of French and Amercian oak barrels."
