A small DO located in the Aragón region in northern Spain, west of the city of Zaragoza in the Ebro Valley. In addition to the large volumes of red wine, about 20 percent of the production is rosé; there's also a small amount of white wine. The main grape for red wine is Garnacha (grenache).

Pronounced nose of sweet cherry, plum and forest fruit. Medium-bodied with crunchy, crisp fruit that is followed nicely by well-balanced structure.

Decent length and some complexity as it opens up.

Ageing potential: Best drunk young.

Suggested meals: Ideal with light meat dishes, tomato based dishes, pasta, sausages or roasted vegetables.

A great value red. Warm, lush and rich.

Colour: Intense dark violet with ruby tints

Bouquet: Classic Tempranillo blackcurranty aromas with a hint of redcurrants.

Palate: Up front, rich red fruit balanced by a delicate vanilla custard overtone.

Drink on its own or with lamb, turkey, smoked meats and grilled/fried venison.
